Federal Gov’t and Municipalities Go For The Solar

This is an interesting program that is funded by the Canadian Federal Government and the Alberta Municipalities. It would appear that the intent is to encourage municipalities to gain experience in integrating Solar power into their infrastructure. The artile lists the sucesses todate, the municipalities that are still waiting to flip the switch and the proposed amount of power.

The thing that bothers me is that there is no incentive for the homeowner in the form of resources or tax breaks to make this happen. Maybe with the municipalties getting involved, maybe the expertise can some day be passed onto the general public.

Supermarket Coolers Used To Heat Building

Grocery stores are exploring a new technology that allows heat capture from the energy used to run their food coolers. This is for serious energy creation and completely eliminates the heating source, (even in very cold weather). This significantly reduces the energy and puts cash directly in the business owners pocket. While this isn’t an alternative energy source, this is an example of creative thinking to solve a problem and profit from it. Hybrid Vehicles Cost Effective Only If Tax Break Provided

The following article reports that Convential Vehicles are still cheaper than a Hybrid vehicle. But it is encouraging that the early adopters of the hybrid vehicle technology are driving up demand, volume and as a result lowering the price and increasing public awareness.

Some of the current available hybrid automobiles are the Toyota Camry Hybrid, the Ford Escape Hybrid, the Lexus Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Saturn Vue Hybrid. By creating a vehicle for markets such as Hybrid Mini Van, Hybrid SUV, Hybrid Truck, and Hybrid Bicycle; the consumer will have many choices to purchase the hybrid automobile that works for their application.
